FIRST FRIDAY PRAYER FOCUS
2 November 2007
UNITE IN NOVEMBER 2, 2007 FIRST FRIDAY PRAYER AND FASTING
PRAYER FOCUS AFFIRMING GOD IN OUR STATE CONSTITUTIONS
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord . . ." (Ps 32:12) Offer thanksgiving for the deliberate recognition of and the references to the Creator God of the Bible in each of our state constitutions. Using the quotations from state preambles listed on Page 4 of the November 2 IFA newsletter, (
ifapray.org ) affirm and proclaim the reality of this foundational truth for your own state, for the other states of the Union, for the District of Columbia, and for the inhabited U.S. Territories. Intercede for the upholding of this constitutional and public recognition of God by all state Supreme Courts and by the U.S. Supreme Court.
STATECRAFT | FOREIGN POLICY
Intercede for spiritual statesmen and for adherence to biblical revelation and principles in the formulation and execution of foreign policy, especially toward Israel and Jerusalem. Intercede for the revelation of Jesus as Messiah in the Middle East and for "the peace of Jerusalem." (Ps 122)
Intercede that wisdom, adequate intelligence, strategy and tactical direction be granted to all involved in foreign service, statecraft, and policy, especially regarding Israel, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, China, Russia, North Korea, Somalia, and Sudan. (Tapestry, "Peace to Jerusalem, Holyland Tapestries, http://www.holylandtapestries.com/galsection1.html )
PRIMARY ELECTIONS
Intercede that moral, God-fearing, pro-life, and pro- family men and women be selected, supported, and find favor in local, state, and national campaigns. Pray that the Lord reveal His choices, expose corruption, immorality, bribery, hidden agendas, and controlling persons or special interests. Intercede that truth be revealed during the Presidential primary debates and forums. Pray against confusion created by the accelerated round of early primary Presidential elections.
GRATITUDE | THANKSGIVING
"In everything give thanks . . ." (1 Thess 5:18) An attitude of ingratitude and thanklessness is prevalent in the Church and across the nation. This sin of omission is crippling the faith and prayer life of many. Offer prayers of repentance and pray for a more genuine and sincere national Thanksgiving observance, in addition to the family meal gatherings. As believers, let us offer thanksgiving for Christ's work of Redemption, for forgiveness of sin, and for deliverance from oppression and patterns of iniquity.
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession
and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those
in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives
in all godliness and holiness.
This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
who wants all men to be saved
and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
- 1 Timothy 2:1-4
