PALESTINIANS TO ISRAEL: GO BACK TO 1947 BORDERS
(IsraelNN.com) In the course of recent negotiations, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni asked the head of the Palestinian Authority's negotiating team, Ahmed Qureia (Abu Ala), to accept Israel as a Jewish state, reminding him that it was accepted as such by UN Resolution 181 on November 29, 1947, for the partition of the Land of Israel. UN Resolution 181 delineated a two state solution for Jews and Arabs west of the Jordan river. According to Ahmed Tibi, a member of Israel's Knesset who used to be an aide to PLO founder Yasser Arafat, Abu Ala answered: "let us implement [Resolution] 181 first and we shall talk." Map below shows the UN Partition Plan, 1947 (Resolution 181)
Intercede for spiritual statesmen and for adherence to biblical revelation and principles in the formulation and execution of foreign policy, especially toward Israel and Jerusalem. Intercede for the revelation of Jesus as Messiah in the Middle East and for "the peace of Jerusalem." (Ps 122)
Intercede for our national leaders - that every decision, action or plan to pressure Israel to give up land or evacuate its people from any territory would be frustrated and abandoned. May God raise up leaders in the United States and Israel who would support His end-time purposes for the people of Israel.
Pray for the safety and protection of leaders attending the Annapolis meetings Ask the Lord to send GOSPEL MESSENGERS into their midst - that they may give a loving demonstration, and a compassionate witness of Jesus of Nazareth.
Use the list of invitees below - "ANNAPOLIS MEETING NEXT WEEK" - to pray the above prayers.
The City of Jerusalem was to be demilitarized and placed under a special international regime, to be administered by the United Nations through a "trusteeship council."
The Arab leadership refused to accept the partition plan in 1947 and opted, instead, for military annihilation of the Jews.
Their plan failed and the State of Israel was born, with the Jews carving out a more favorable map for themselves by military means.
MOST ISRAELIS WON'T COMPROMISE ON JERUSALEM
Asked if Israel should agree to dismantle most of its West Bank settlements - one of the key Palestinian demands - 55 percent said no. Two-thirds of respondents said Israel should not agree to compromise on control of Jerusalem, which is another central demand from the Palestinians who want the eastern part of the city as capital of a future state. ALTERNATIVE PEACE PLAN GAINING SUPPORTERS
An alternative Israeli peace initiative that would see the Jewish state extend its sovereignty over all Judea and Samaria (the so-called "West Bank"), instead of allowing the creation of a Palestinian Arab state there, is gaining support, even among left-wing Israeli lawmakers.
Formulated by Knesset Member Rabbi Benny Elon (National Religious Party), the "Israeli Initiative" calls for Israel to immediately annex all of Judea and Samaria, while working together with Jordan to grant Jordanian citizenship to all of the Arabs living there. Large Arab population centers would conduct civil affairs with a degree of autonomy, while exercising their national expression through Jordan, which is already a Palestinian-majority country.
The Palestinian Authority would be dismantled, as would the so-called Palestinian "refugee camps."
Elon told Israel National News that his plan has been gaining support from within some unexpected quarters, including the left-wing Labor Party and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's ruling Kadima Party, both of which are officially dedicated to a policy of dividing the biblical land of Israel in a vain attempt to secure peace.
Opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu (Likud) has also expressed his support for the Israeli Initiative, as have a number of U.S. congressmen.
Jordan is officially opposed to any such plan, fearing that bolstering its Palestinian Arab majority would weaken the rule of the country's Bedouin minority. But Elon is convinced that the details of his proposal would convince Jordanian King Abdullah II to sign on. (Israel Today, 11/21/07)

ARMY CHAPLAIN GOES IN SEARCH OF ABRAHAM
(Photo: Soldiers and civilians from nearby Talil Air Base make their way through the ancient city of Ur. At one time the largest city in the world much of it is still covered by thousands of years of dust and dirt.
Ur, Iraq - In Genesis chapter 12, God said to Abram, "get yourself out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, unto a land that I will show you" These words, spoken long ago, came alive for Chaplain Terrence Hayes, 1st Sustainment Brigade chaplain, as he traveled to the ancient city of Ur.
"Abraham, about seventy-five years old, heard Gods voice to move to a land where he would fulfill a great promise to him," said Hayes.
As he made his way through the ancient ruins the guide Dhief Muhsen, an Iraqi citizen who lives next to the site with his wife and seven children spoke of the people who lived there many thousands of years ago. "They found the name Abrumu. A name that had some root of Abraham in there," said Muhsen.
"If Abraham lived in a house like that . . . there was twenty-seven rooms so he was quit a wealthy man. To leave that sort of lifestyle, a twenty-seven room mansion, to go to a land that I will show you. He had no idea where that land was - quite an act of faith," said Hayes.
The Army has allowed Hayes to travel a bit and as a result has been able to visit historical sites like Ur. "I do a seminar called Walk through the Bible, and it traces all the major people places and events of the entire Bible and one of the scenes is the beginning of the call of Abraham at Ur." BY THE NUMBERS: THE U.S. MILITARY CHAPLAINCY
Pray for all military chaplains to receive grace, mercy and strength to minister to the soldiers under their care. It is a difficult experience for chaplains in the military to bring encouragement and faith to those facing death daily. Pray that they be refreshed and strengthened to proclaim the gospel. Pray, not only for their physical safety, but for protection against depression and discouragement as they also face death and separation from their wives and children.
Intercede that the constitutional freedom for military chaplains to pray in public according to their beliefs, and for Christian chaplains to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, will be upheld. Intercede that attempts being made in the branches of the military to permit only nonsectarian "civic faith" prayer and pluralistic language be thwarted.
There are more than 3,800 military chaplains serving in the US armed forces. The largest of the services, the Army, recognizes 120 faith organizations that sponsor chaplains. About 70 percent of the organizations are evangelical Christian churches; a handful from such faiths as Judaism and Islam. Buddhists are a recent addition and are still not proportionately represented in the chaplain corps while other faiths, such as Wicca, are recognized by the military but have as yet no representation in the chaplaincy.
